Modern and old traction through Yatton Station
My great-grandfather, John Butler, was a groom at, I believe, the Crown Hotel, from 1893 until his death in 1907. His wife Amanda was much younger than him. It was his second marriage. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
With many thanks
More information from Michael Rutter – “John Butler was an ‘ostler’ at a pub or hotel in Yatton.
He was born at Acton Turville, Glos . He had been
The horse bus driver at Wotton-under-Edge and moved to Yatton
In about 1893/94.”
Does anyone know if any or pubs or hotels in the Yatton area used to be called the Crown ? There is very small Crown pub at Churchill but would think this one was nearer Yatton. Thanks .
